A new patent from Canon details the for what could be a new kit lens for its APS-C cameras. The patent, originally filed in February of 2014 , shows off an EF-S 15–53mm f/2.8–4 lens; a focal length and aperture range that could very well point at the of a newer, faster kit lens for Canon’s entry-level DSLRs. Converted, the 15–53mm focal length of this lens would become a 24–85mm lens on Canon’s APS-C 1.6x crop sensor — a perfect range for any photographer looking to get started
